Heat-pump cost varies much more by system type than a single headline figure suggests. Current Checkatrade guidance places air-to-air systems around £2,000–£4,000 supplied and installed, air-to-water systems around £15,000 on average, and ground-source installations around £18,000–£50,000. Boiler Upgrade Scheme support should be shown separately from gross installation cost because grant values and eligibility depend on technology, location and the heating system being replaced.
